MEET THE FUNDRAISING SUB-COMMITTEE

Terry Burnage – Chair – riding on Heritage

2022 will be Terry’s ninth Ride and he’s been lucky enough to have completed all four routes over the years. For Terry, the Ride ticks many boxes including camaraderie and friendships, fitness, and connectivity with nature and regional communities to name a few.

Kim Stewart, riding with Team WAPHA

Kim has completed three consecutive rides and this will be his first year on the FRC. The highlight of the Ride for Kim are the school visits, engaging with the kids and seeing the amazing strength from the riders who are presenting.

Lyn Pettit – Riding with Team Resource Capital Funds

Lyn has been involved with the Hawaiian Ride for Youth since 2012 and has been a rider and in support crew over those years. This year will be Lyn’s third year on the FRC and rides to make a difference in the community. A fun fact about Lyn is that she can play the didgeridoo and also knits beautiful slippers!

Brad Miller, riding with Team MACA

This will be Brad’s fifth Ride and first year on the FRC. Brad’s reason for participating in the Ride is his sister Claire who tragically took her life in 2017. When he’s not out cycling, Brad is a local music advocate and a keen ten pin bowler.

Matt Gibbs – support crew

This will be Matt’s fifth year on the Ride, and in his time has been both support crew and a rider. Matt is passionate about the work of Youth Focus and the huge impact it has on the community- so much so he has also been involved in the Youth Focus Youth Mentor Program.

Kim Lawrance – Riding with Team Matador

Kim is a strong advocate of the Youth Focus cause and this will be his sixth Ride, and second on the FRC. A highlight of the Ride for Kim is forming bonds with other riders and learning how many riders have been impacted by depression. He believes the sharing of stories has a long and lasting impact.

Izzy Andrews – Riding with Team Mineral Resources

This will be Izzy’s sixth year on the Ride and her first year on the FRC. Izzy is a passionate believer that the stigma around mental needs to be reduced and that access to support services need to be improved. Fun fact about Izzy – she is the proud owner of two dogs, an elderly greyhound called Joe and one 9 month old mixed breed from Shenton Park called Xena.
