Alumni News | October 2020 Edition 1

Dear All

We’ve made it to official training! Thank you again to everyone for persevering through the EOI and registration period – with so many moving parts we wanted to make sure we had the right balance of riders on each team as well as throughout the peloton.

As you know, your registration payment covers a multitude of things not only to ensure your HRFY experience is unforgettable, but to give you peace of mind. As a rider in the 2021 Hawaiian Ride for Youth, your registration fee includes a 12-month individual insurance policy from WestCycleThe policy includes a comprehensive range of benefits, including:

  • Income replacement
  • Rehabilitation expenses
  • Overseas riding
  • Counselling support
  • Permanent injury cover

To view the full list of benefits, click here. (listed under ‘Ride Premium’)

Stay tuned for the next edition of our e-news where we will introduce you to your Fundraising Sub-Committee and the Support Crew Sub-Committee.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions on 0414 874 129 or via email [email protected]

All the best
Chair, HRFY Organising Committee

In addition to placing riders on teams and placing teams on pelotons, the newly established Rider Engagement & Recruitment Sub-Committee (RE&R) acts as a conduit between the wider ride group and the Hawaiian Ride for Youth Organising Committee (HRFYOC). The members of the RE&R sub-committee are there to enhance your Hawaiian Ride for Youth (HRFY) experience and ensure your feedback is heard. Whether you’re a firsttime rider or a long-term rider, joining a close-knit community like the HRFY can be daunting, but the RE&R sub-committee is available to guide you through the process.

Keep an eye out for your RE&R representatives at your next training session, and don’t forget to say hi!
