FUNDRAISING ACHIEVEMENTS

With less than a month to go until Ride Week we would like to acknowledge everyone’s fundraising efforts to date. With many riders having met or exceeded their fundraising goal of $5,000 and others well on the way to achieving their goal, we are delighted to advise the total fundraising so far for the 2020 Ride is close to $800,000.

We would like to acknowledge just a few of the teams and individuals who have achieved outstanding fundraising results:

Top 5 Fundraising Teams

Citadel-MAGNUS $51,454.86
Steinepreis Paganin $48,950.66
Sandfire Resources $48,919.03
Office Solutions IT $39,452.42
Hawaiian $39,424.58

 Top 5 Individuals

Xaviar Ullrich Team Budget Car & Truck Rental $14,488.91
Michael Weir Team Citadel-MAGNUS $11,511.16
Barry Mahon Team Sandfire Resources $11,276.44
Nigel Hunt Team Citadel-MAGNUS $11,134.96
Clark Wight Team Hawaiian $9,541.56

A special mention to Xaviar Ullrich (Team Budget Car & Truck Rental) and Barry Mahon (Team Sandfire Resources) in our Top 5 individual fundraisers who have achieved a phenomenal amount to date! Xaviar and Barry both reached their fundraising target in October 2019 and are continuing to fundraise – an outstanding effort for their first Hawaiian Ride for Youth.

As we head into Ride Week, remember that fundraising is the key and ultimate purpose of the Ride, and the funds you raise allow Youth Focus to provide free, uncapped counselling services to young Western Australians. Again, a massive thank to all for your continued efforts towards reaching our 2020 fundraising goal of $1.8 million.

FUNDRAISING UPDATE

As we approach the pointy end of fundraising we would like to outline the process that will be followed by the Fundraising Committee (FRC) leading up to Ride Week.

  • March 2:
FRC will review the list of riders who are yet to reach their minimum fundraising and touch base to discuss plans to meet the fundraising obligation.
  • Week of March 9:
The FRC will contact riders to discuss the expectation that any fundraising shortfall will be settled by a personal donation.
  • Week of March 16:
FRC to collect credit card details from identified riders to process any shortfall in fundraising.
  • Friday March 20:
Credit cards of identified riders charged with fundraising shortfalls. We also advise that in the event you do make a personal contribution to meeting your fundraising minimum and subsequent to your contribution further donations are made on your account any amounts above $5,000 (up to the amount of your final contribution) will be refunded on request.

The Organising Committee and the FRC recognise that fundraising can be difficult and we are keen to provide whatever additional support you need over the coming weeks. Please contact your FRC Representative if you have any queries or require further information on the Youth Focus cause that can assist in your interaction with potential donors.
