53-year-old father of three, two sons one daughter.
I have worked within the Mining Industry for the last 35+ years, from my apprenticeship as a Plant Mechanic with Caterpillar to working for major Mining and Contract Companies where I have progressed to position of plant maintenance management. Over these years I have work with and alongside some amazing people and never cease to look back at all the experiences I have had along the way with them.
I started riding road bikes in 2014 when I helped fund raise for a work colleagues' team in the MS Coast ride. I have continued to ride in this event every year I have been available.
I will be completing my 5th ride this year as one of the team Captains for MACA in the 200km Cancer ride.
I enjoy the physical and mental challenge that fundraising events such as Ride for Youth offer, but most importantly as fit and able person I want to be able to give something to charities and causes I have witnessed or have a strong connection with.
I am a physically active person who has always been keen to have a go at most things. Have played Hockey, AFL, Cricket at strong competitive levels. As I have gone past the ability to compete within these sports, I have focus more on the individual sports of weightlifting and cycling.
I coached my youngest sons AFL team for 6 years and took great pride in helping those young men develop their personal skills but as well as being able to work as a team. I still have a strong connection with these men to this day.
Passions are Family, Friends, my dogs, sport and Freo Dockers.
