This year’s Hawaiian Rice for Youth will be my seventh undertaking and comes at a time of considerable need with the impact of Covid being so challenging for so many.
It is with great anticipation that our collective efforts in raising awareness will give strength to young people uncertain about their way in the world.
Strength to speak up and seek support from their friends and professionals such as the Youth Focus team.
In WA, there is an unacceptable rate of youth suicide and depression particularly with rural and remote youth.
We all need to open up conversations with knowledge, language and compassion across the community to help stem this and give young people support to manage their health and emotional wellbeing.
Our ride brings opportunities to discuss these important topics and show pathways forward.
Supporting my fundraising will help Youth Focus networks in many regional centres assisting young vulnerable people.
