Three years ago I would never have imagined riding 70 kilometres, let alone 700, getting out of bed at 4:30am for a ride, accumulating an ever expanding arsenal of cycling equipment, chasing Strava segments, staying up all night to watch the Tour de France or wearing lycra. Yet here I am!
This is my first Hawaiian Ride for Youth and I’m looking forward to the physical challenge of the ride whilst supporting an extremely relevant and important charity. Personally, I’ve experienced the positive impact cycling can have on physical and mental well being and am very fortunate to be able to embark on a personal challenge such as this in support of such a worthy cause.
But I can’t do it alone, so please dig deep and help me help out an incredible organisation. Youth Focus’ mission is to equip young people who experience mental health challenges to lead meaningful lives. They deliver frontline services and education programs which aim to reduce symptoms associated with suicide, depression, anxiety and self-harm, and build long term mental well-being to help young people reach their full potential.
This work has never been more important given the upheaval, challenges and uncertainty we continue to face through the COVID pandemic, so all donations are greatly appreciated and thank you for all of your support!
