As a mother, and as someone who works with young adults, I am genuinely concerned about the stressors kids face in the 21st century. It's easy to think that this generation has it easy, but in fact the opposite is true. The full impact of social media and the Internet on mental well-being is only just beginning to emerge. Anxiety, mood disorders, cyberbullying and addiction are just some of the deleterious effects of social media that have been identified by young people themselves (O'Reilly et al, 2018). The support services provided by Youth Focus help children who are at risk manage these stressors so that they can lead full and healthy lives.
