(The following should be read with thick Scottish accent).
Malcolm is a recovering-engineer, Dad, husband, continuously-improving-cyclist (starting from a low-base!) and still consults in the leadership and culture space. He works with his wife Lisa in their business Corporate Evolution Pty Ltd.
Fortunately for him, he gets plenty of "helpful" advice from his own twenty-something offspring Jen and Ben.
This will be my 9-1/9th ride (+1/9th because in 2015 he "only" did the CEO's ride from Mandurah on the last day).
I got involved in the ride in 2010 mainly as a fitness challenge with some mates. In fundraising and participating in the ride, it feels like we get so much more back from the ride, than what we put in on our 6 months of (very) early morning training 3 days a week - better fitness, meet great people, learn more about the great work Youth Focus do to support struggling young people.
I want to acknowledge my family for supporting me in this commitment. None of the riders would be able to do this without the support from home.
I believe the work of Youth Focus is vitally important for our next generations and for our community more broadly.
There are thousands of worthy causes out there, and I know that so many of you already contribute to many of these causes. AND I’d love if you would consider supporting me on the ride this year. You can rest assured that your contribution will make a difference in the lives of our young people who are struggling with mental health issues through the great work of Youth Focus.
Thank you.
