The 2015 CEO challenge was my first involvement in cycling and the great work that Youth Focus does.
Since that time, cycling has become my main (non: winter / too-windy / chance-of-rain / too-tired) exercise interest, along with a wardrobe full of lycra, which I now wear in places I promised I never would; while enduring "vomit noises" from my teenage daughter once I arrive home from a ride...bless!
2019 will be my second "full-ride", which I am looking forward to, having learnt many lessons the hard-way from my 2016 inaugural mid-west Ride for Youth, not least was the importance of a good saddle!
The real joy of participating though is the friendships you make and the important work you facilitate by raising money for such a worthy cause and organisation.
Super excited to join team Shadforth and bringing a serious handicap to any average speed ambitions they may have, and looking forward to helping my new team in the most important way - helping raise money.
When not riding, I enjoy being a non-executive director of BHP and the West Coast Eagles, and Operations Partner for PE Fund, BGH Capital, which recently acquired the educational business, Navitas, which is based in WA.
Any support for myself, or any other team or rider, is greatly appreciated!
