I got involved in the ride in 2010 mainly as a fitness challenge with some mates. In fundraising and participating in the ride, it feels like we get so much more back from the ride, than what we put in on our 6 months of (very) early morning training 3 days a week:-
· Become much fitter. Tick
· Found a whole new bunch of mates. Tick.
· Proved that I still think I’m as competitive as I was at 16. Tick.
· Learned much more about the mental health challenges that the next generation are facing and what we can do to help. Tick
· Found a worthy charitable cause that I want to support. Tick.
I also want to acknowledge my family for supporting me in this commitment. None of the riders would be able to do this without the support from home.
I believe the work of Youth Focus is vitally important for our next generations and for our community more broadly.
There are thousands of worthy causes out there, and I know that so many of you already contribute to many of these causes. AND I’d love if you would consider supporting me on the ride this year. You can rest assured that your contribution will make a difference in the lives of our young people who are struggling with mental health issues through the great work of Youth Focus.
