Welcoming a new Chair
We are delighted to welcome Christina Matthews to the role of Chair of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth Organising Committee. Christina has held the role of Deputy Chair since October 2019. She completed the Ride in 2016 and 2019 and has participated in the CEO Challenge in 2017 and 2018 as an avid cycling enthusiast. Christina is a passionate mental health advocate and will be an invaluable asset to the Organising Committee.
Christina is the CEO of the WA Cricket Association (WACA) and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has redefined the way the WACA approaches its business and is a well-respected voice within the community. Christina is well known for her strong leadership qualities and 35 years’ experience in various management, coaching and development roles within cricket, hockey and Australian rules football.
We would like to acknowledge the contribution of outgoing Chair Phil ‘Phiery’ Renshaw, who has held the position since 2017. Phil has been instrumental to the success of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth, volunteering countless hours to support Youth Focus and the Organising Committee.
Phil exemplifies the vision, values and purpose of the Ride and is a strong advocate for mental health and young people in our communities.
Phil stepped down on 4 May 2020 but will continue to be closely involved as a participant in the Hawaiian Ride for Youth in 2021.
Please join us in welcoming Christina to the role, and thanking Phil for his enduring leadership.
