Hawaiian Ride for Youth raises $1.88 million for Youth Focus
This year, the Hawaiian Ride for Youth celebrated its 18th birthday in a very different way. Even though we were unable to board the buses to Albany or Jurien Bay, visit regional Western Australian high schools, carb up on #fridaypieday or cross the finish line onto the hallowed grounds of the University of Western Australia, we were still able to come together as a community throughout the year in training, at team events, and now, virtually.
In an unprecedented nationwide ban on travel, public gatherings and sporting events that resulted in the cancellation of this iconic event, we came together as a community to continue to support the young people of Western Australia. Through the valuable contribution and unwavering commitment of our riders, support crew, and our generous supporters, we are thrilled to share that we were still able exceed our fundraising target and raise an outstanding $1,885,044 for Youth Focus.
The funds raised for this year’s event have taken the overall fundraising of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth to more than $24 million This translates to thousands of young lives changed for the better – and it’s all thanks to you.
Now, thanks to your ongoing support, Youth Focus is poised to move into a period of change and evolution as it leverages its ability to demonstrate innovation and continue to play a lead role in the WA mental health space. Congratulations on not only your personal, but also your team achievements, and thank you again for being part of the ride that has the young at heart.
