I am a 'pom' originally but have been in WA 27 years after I married Tim having met him when I was backpacking out here post Uni ....does that make me more of an Aussie than a Pom as I have lived here longer than in England?
I am a novice rider but am proud to say I have now ridden my road bike 9 times as of today, September 11th! Some people say I am a 'sporty spice' as I play pennants tennis and hockey and do crazy things like climb Kilimanjaro, walk the Cape to Cape alone and walk the Oxfam 100km walk in under 25 hours. I definitely rise to a challenge...what mother doesn't?
I am excited and nervous about the challenge ahead but inspired by the Youth Focus cause as I lost my best friend to suicide aged 21, and have a family member who has suffered from mental health issues for over 12 years since the age of 15. I have 3 kids aged 23,21 and 18 and over the years I have seen their self-confidence and that of their friends ebb and flow; I have had my kids ring me up worried about friends of theirs and I feel helpless. We lived down south in Yallingup for 5 years to 2015 and I have witnessed first hand the issues experienced by youth in the regions as they try to find their way.
I am a qualified professional coach and work with Integral Development as an executive coach, facilitator and consultant. I coach privately as well. I love what I do and find it very rewarding assisting others on their journey to find clarity and direction and simultaneously increase their self confidence and self-awareness.
