Hundreds of family and friends gathered at Kings Park on Saturday, 30 March  to welcome home 171 riders in an outstanding finish to the 2019 Hawaiian Ride for Youth.

An incredible amount of $2,164,686 million was raised for Youth Focus, exceeding the 2019 fundraising target of $1.8 million and raising the total fundraising amount to more than $21 million since the Ride’s inception in 2003.

Since their departure from Albany and Jurien Bay on Tuesday, riders covered almost 3,000km across four routes – Coastal, Inland, Wheatbelt and Mid-West, with an aim to raise much-needed awareness and funds for Youth Focus.

Riders visited 26 regional schools in the past week, presenting to more than 3,500 high school students and inspiring them with their own experiences and personal stories.

Youth Focus is a unique not-for-profit organisation offering a range of mental health services and support for young people aged 12-25 and their families in Western Australia. The organisation seeks to reduce suicide in young people and help them overcome issues associated with depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
