Day Two | Wheatbelt Route

Go Back

Today the Wheatbelt peloton cycled 134km from Gnowangerup to Katanning in fairly warm conditions.

The group started the day with the Rapid Relief Team’s famous bacon and egg rolls, before pushing on to the first stop for the day: Kojonup District High School. First year rider, Frankie Millar of Team Finsure presented a powerful and emotional story about losing her sister to suicide, and then later losing her husband to illness. It was Frankie’s late husband who encouraged her to start cycling. The students were highly engaged and offered some thoughtful questions around help-seeking.

The second stop for the day was Katanning Senior High School. Bob Myles of Team Morgans presented to the students, framing his discussion around mental health and wellness.
