I've been riding since kindergarten - at first alongside my dad, and then independently to school, then uni, then work.The only accidents I have ever had were on the shared paths - which makes me more comfortable on the roads most of the time.
It's not so hard to ride to work when there is a changeroom with shower facilities easily available, even though some days I need to visit four different hospitals.
Depression can be hard to recognise in myself as well as others, so I think it is vital to raise awareness and help make the conversation easier to start. Being part of a healthy community is crucial - so join a community garden, choir or men's shed... and get some value out of life!
