I've been riding for over 20 years, having started as a triathlete. I was heavily involved in the tri-scene, having been president of Stadium Triathlon Club and owning a business that conducted triathlon training specifically for women. I also co-owned and operated the largest all women's triathlon event in Australia at the time.
As I got older, the injuries got more frequent and a family came along, I gave up the running and swimming and now I just cycle.
I've completed a half ironman and 3 dams cycling event, but being a single mum of two awesome kids is by far my biggest achievement. The fact I am able to participate in RFY and commit to the fundraising task ahead is testament to how fantastic my kids are to give me that flexibility and freedom.
I've known lots of people who have done the ride in previous years and they all say it was an amazing experience, not just the ride but the enlightenment as to the difficulties faced by many young people and their families that you never hear about. I decided it was time for me to use something I love doing to give back.
I work for Kleenheat so talk to me if you'd like cheaper gas than the general public and maybe use some of those savings to support my fundraising commitment. I've committed $1500 of my own money to pay for me to do the event so rest assured 100% of your donation goes towards the great work of Youth Focus.
Many thanks to everyone who supports me and Youth Focus in this endeavour.
