During my life I have seen the impact that mental health issues can have on individuals and families. I have decided to participate in the Hawaiian Ride for Youth, 20 to 24 March 2018, riding 700km from Albany to Perth.
The purpose of the ride is to raise funds and awareness for Youth Focus, an independent for-purpose organisation that supports vulnerable young people in Western Australia by offering a range of mental health services, free of charge.
Youth Focus operates with a team of highly trained and skilled mental health professionals to provide a range of early intervention and prevention services, aimed at supporting young people and their families to overcome the issues associated with suicide, depression, anxiety and self-harm.
My team will be riding from Albany to Perth and we will be stopping at regional high schools to engage with students on issues including youth suicide, depression and self-harm, as well as the services that Youth Focus provides.
My training is in full swing with the rest of the Arc Infrastructure Team and look forward to the challenges ahead.
I have committed to raising a minimum of $5,000 (however will for aim more!) for Youth Focus and would appreciate your support in making this a reality. The cost of running the event is covered by each rider’s personal investment and thus 100% of your donation goes to Youth Focus.
Thank you for your generosity and partnership in supporting this worthy cause.
