Race a Rider | Claremont Quarter Activation

Go Back

On Saturday, 3rd February, we held our first ever ‘Race a Rider’ community engagement event, with the generous support of our naming rights partner Hawaiian and Claremont Quarter.

The aim of the event was to raise awareness of Youth Focus and the Hawaiian Ride for Youth as well as give the public an opportunity to experience a small taste of what it takes to do the Ride.

Riders set themselves up on wind trainers in the Claremont Quarter Courtyard and took turns doing two-minute time trials on stationary bikes. We were also joined by students from nearby Scotch College and Methodist Ladies’ College who set a cracking pace early on. In between rounds, Youth Focus General Manager of Community Engagement, Chris Harris spoke to riders about their motivations behind signing up for the ride and the importance of starting conversations around mental health.

Special thanks to Hawaiian, Claremont Quarter, Aqualyte, Aussie Natural Spring Water, Lululemon, Hawaiian Ride for Youth Team Sponsors, students from Scotch College and Methodist Ladies’ College and of course our riders!
