Phil Renshaw appointed as Chair of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth Committee
Phil Renshaw has been appointed Chair of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth Committee.
Phil, who has been involved in the Ride since 2011, replaces Bruce Fielding who stepped down from the Committee in May 2017.
Bruce was the Chair of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth Committee for two years, and has been involved in the Hawaiian Ride for Youth since 2011. Bruce will continue to be involved as a rider in 2018.
Phil said he was honoured to have been appointed Chair.
“I am a father to six wonderful children and one beautiful grandchild. While I recognise how blessed my wife Barbara and I are to have such a well-balanced family, I am also touched by the fact that many other families are not quite as lucky as we have been and my resolve to make a difference through the Hawaiian Ride for Youth is continually strengthened.
“When Bruce was appointed Chair, the Hawaiian Ride for Youth raised $2.3 million with 142 riders over three pelotons.
“Today, a legacy of Bruce’s leadership, the Ride is Australia’s premier charity event for the prevention of youth suicide and depression, raising $2.5 million in 2017 with 173 riders and four pelotons.”
Youth Focus would like to pay tribute to Bruce, who has helped lead the Hawaiian Ride for Youth through a significant period of expansion and evolution. Bruce’s commitment to ensure that the Ride continues to succeed has been outstanding.
