Day Two: Inland Route

Go Back

This morning the weather was looking tenuous after a night of heavy rain and strong winds, however apart from some light rain the riders had a good run, with no issues throughout the Ride.

Lance Randall of team Alcoa gave an excellent presentation to a large group of students at Manjimup Senior High School with the students asking thoughtful questions about mental health issues.

After experiencing a warm reception and experience at Manjimup, the peloton set off for Bridgetown High School where Richard Doggart of team Key Residential presented a moving and heart felt presentation that again resulted in the young people asking pertinent and thoughtful questions. Like the previous schools, the young people in Bridgetown were welcoming and excited about the Hawaiian Ride for Youth coming to town.

Today, the Inland riders travelled 115 km and have enjoyed arriving at Nelson’s of Bridgetown with some time to have a well-earned rest and relax in each other’s company.

Tomorrow will see the Inland riders visit Boyup Brook and Collie High School with the expectation of the weather becoming finer, hopefully!
