Corporate Evolution

Malcolm Doig
Occupation: Consultant
Years Participated: 2010, 2011,2012
Malcolm is a proud Dad of 20 year old Jen and 18 year old Ben, who are both off to Uni on the East Coast this year.
After 20+ years in the oil and gas business, Malcolm eventually figured out what he wanted to be when he grew up and joined his wife in Corporate Evolution Pty Ltd, a leadership consultancy business.
His mid-life crisis swiftly followed and he tried to address it through wearing lycra for a ride to Freo on Saturday morning with "the boys". That wasn't enough, and so with Peter Young, Peter York and Patrick Thatcher, he signed up for the 2010 RFY, driven initially as a personal fitness challenge. Malcolm quickly found that all sorts of other benefits (beyond improved fitness and lots more lycra uniforms!) came from particpating in the ride, including a healthier social life ("yes you can have coffee and cake, after the first 80km"), a broader social and business network, becoming much better educated around the challenges that teens face today (which has helped him be a better parent), and finally being part of something that is very meaningful that is giving back to the community.
Malcolm, and his wife and business partner Lisa, have been so inspired by the efforts of the riders and Youth Focus that this year their company Corporate Evolution, has sponsored one of the teams.
