Hawaiian Ride For Youth
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Hawaiian Ride for Youth.
Your participation in the Hawaiian Ride for Youth will provide you with an unbelievable personal experience. Most importantly, it will raise much needed funds and awareness of Youth Focus and the lifesaving and life changing work that it does in our community.
Established in 1994, Youth Focus is a Western Australian not for profit organisation that provides free yet professional services to young people 12-25 years old who are showing signs associated with suicide, depression and self-harm. Youth Focus operates within the Perth metropolitan area and from regional areas including Rockingham, Mandurah, Bunbury, Albany and Geraldton. The opening of these regional offices was made possible partly by monies raised by the riders of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth.
The 2016 Hawaiian Ride for Youth will depart Albany on Tuesday 5 April 2016 and travel approximately 700km through the South-West, finishing in Perth on Saturday 9 April 2016. Along the way our Riders will visit around 20 High Schools and engage with around 3,000 students.
Below is an overview of the necessary requirements to participate. As a condition of entry each Rider commits to:
- Pay a non-refundable donation of $1,500.00
- Raising a minimum of $5,000.00 in donations
- Riding 700km from Albany to Perth
- Training for 6 months, 3 days per week
- Taking time off work and being away from family for a week to participate in the event
