Ride For Youth

Hawaiian Ride For Youth, 19th - 23rd March 2013

Hawaiian Ride For Youth

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2014 Hawaiian Ride for Youth.

We will once again have two pelotons of riders taking part in the 2014 Hawaiian Ride for Youth. One peloton will travel the Coastal Route and the other on the Inland Route.  The Ride will depart Albany on Tuesday 1 April and travel approximately 700km through the South-West, finishing in Perth on Saturday 5 April.  Your participation in the 2014 Hawaiian Ride for Youth will not only provide you with an unbelievable personal experience but will most importantly raise awareness of an important cause.

Established in 1994, Youth Focus provides no-cost mental health services delivered by highly qualified mental health professionals to young people 12-25 years old who are showing early signs associated with suicide, depression and self-harm. Youth Focus is a West Australian not-for-profit organisation that operates from offices located in Burswood, Joondalup, Midland, Kwinana, Mandurah, Bunbury and Albany. The opening of our regional offices was made possible partly by monies raised by the Riders of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth.

Below is an overview of the necessary requirements to participate.  As a condition of entry each Rider commits to:

  • Pay a non refundable donation of $1,250.00
  • Raising $5,000.00 in donations
  • Riding 700km from Albany to Perth
  • Training for 6 months, 3 days per week
  • Taking time off work and being away from family for a week to participate in the event
  • Achieving all of this around your existing commitments to family, work and your community

Important Dates to Remember

We have currently filled all full rider positions on the 2014 Ride, but you are welcome to fill in your Expression of Interest and take part as a Reserve Rider which means that while you will be allocated to a team you will not have an automatic place in the peloton. The future offer of a place in the peloton between now and the commencement of the event will be subject to a position becoming availabe.

We look forward to working with you, riding with you and enjoying that unbelievable camaraderie which continues to grow with each year’s Ride.

Kind regards
