I took up riding a couple of years ago, seduced by the arcane allure of the lycra lunatic phenomenon. I was surprised to learn how community minded cyclists can be and how  much they contribute to charity.

I was introduced to Youth Focus a couple of years ago and was moved to get involved in the cause.

As a criminal defence barrister who is often confronted by people who are damaged by life, I think I have some understanding of the feelings of hopelessness and despair felt by many young people.

I have had clients who have committed suicide or who have had familiy or friends who have committed suicide.  For those left behind, the effect is devastating.
