Thanks to everyone who attended the end of Ride cocktail function at Crown on Friday 11 April. It was fantastic to see so many riders, support crew and their family and friends there to wrap up what was the most successful Ride to date.
More than 100 riders in a sea of red, black and white arrived home to their loved ones after a grueling five-day, 700km journey from Albany to Perth on the 2014 Hawaiian Ride for Youth. Nearly $2 million was raised for Youth Focus to assist in the prevention of youth suicide, depression and self-harm. Since its inception in 2003, the Ride has raised in excess of $10m.
Friday dawned as a beautiful clear day and the Ride today is picturesque taking in the countryside from Collie through Harvey and then on to our final destination in Mandurah. Unlike the coastal route we had an easier day with two schools to visit and not 180 kms as our mates on the coastal route did. However we had plenty of gravel, mechanical failures etc. doing their best to impede our progress!
