Quarter of a million milestone reached for 2012

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 - 3:42pm

The Hawaiian Ride for Youth website has only been live since November and already our Riders have reached an amazing milestone by raising over $250,000. Over the last few months our Riders have not only been raising awareness and funds for Youth Focus, they have also taken part in or organised a number of events.

Riders James Sutherland and Wayne Pluske organised another successful GCS Celebrity Chef Lunch and the Riders of Team Shadforth Financial Group also organised a great lunch, Footy Focus.  Team KPMG held their Quiz Night for 2012, with over $15,000 raised on the night.  The teams from Azure Capital and CSBP also held an exclusive Wine Night attended by some of Perth’s top business people.

Riders have also been spotted shaking tins at The Herdsman, Adelaide Terrace, the Cottesloe Street Festival, the Kwinana Festival and The Boatshed, with the team from RBS Morgans also set to hit the City of Perth with their wind trainers this Friday.

The Thermomix Raffle drawn last week by Riders Karen Marsh and Jocelyn Sisson was also a very popular fundraising event.  Congratulations to Ron from West Perth who not only took out the 1st Prize of a Thermomix but also the 3rd Prize, a case of Chestnut Grove Wine.  Congratulations should also go to Pam of Donnybrook who won the 2nd Prize of a B & B stay at the Tradewinds Hotel Fremantle.

A big thank you and congratulations to all of our Riders and to everyone who has already donated to the Hawaiian Ride for Youth, we are set to reach and surpass our 2012 target of $1.25 million.  Be sure to keep checking the Hawaiian Ride for Youth Website and sign up to the e-newsletter to be the first to find out about other upcoming events and activities.
