The day dawned with grey clouds and drizzly rain but it didn’t last, just stayed cool. We left Albany with great enthusiasm as we rode out to North Albany Senior High School to be greeted by the school councillors and students for yet another great Official Start to Hawaiian Ride for Youth 2011 – the 9th.
We arrived in Albany safe and sound with many riders heading out for a warm up on their bikes.
There is a lot of apprehension on what tomorrow will bring with some of the newer riders wondering what is ahead of them.
The dinner at the new “Rustlers Restaurant” was terrific, large and roomy with hosts Dean and Tammy looking after us as if we were royalty.
Bike serviced, freshly shod with new tyres, months of training dirt washed off and looking sparkling! The engine is as fit as he's going to get! All set to head off to Albany in the morning to start the big adventure.
